Firenze as seen Through Graffiti

Via di Santo Spirito, Firenze, Italia. March 2010
It's the battle of the graffiti. One person wrote "arrenditi" or "give up." Another wonderfully put "non" or "don't" before and "mai" or "never" after...making a glass-half-empty statement of "GIVE UP" into a wonderful word of advice "NEVER GIVE UP"!

Intersection of Via de' Bardi and Via Lungarno Torrigiani. Firenze, Italia. October 2009
I have found this graffiti all over Firenze, but never at an angle.

Inside the Cupola del Duomo. Firenze, Italia August 2009.
A good friend of mine, Melody, was visiting me in Firenze. We, being art history majors, went on a major tour of all the museums and churches of Firenze. We braved the August heat and decided to climb the steps of the Duomo, and ran across this little piece of truth on our way down.

Firenze, Italia. June 2008
In Italian "uffa perĂ²" is an expression which unfortunately I have not yet been able to find a truly proper translation for in English...yes, yes, I know it sounds like a copout, but I promise you it's not. The closest thing I can think of is "come on!!" (said with that classic undertone of annoyance at something that just won't do what its meant to do).
